It is rare to see an interior photograph with the lights on.  Many thanks Bryndis and Judicialinvestigator.

I am not sure where to post this question:

Is it possible to get more information on the French firm that is weaving the mauve lampas silk for the walls of the mauve room?

And is it possible to order a piece of the silk fabric from the firm (though I do recall Bob saying it costs like $600.00 per meter...) ?

The firm name is here somewhere in the thread, you can search for it as I can't recall it off hand. They are still in business. They don't make it currently, it would be a special commission they can reproduce. 20 years ago it was about $600 a meter! We don't know if the original firm is making the fabric for the current restoration or if the Museum has another source.

The manufacturer was "Charles Berger" in Paris.  I found my notes. The cost last time it was requested was $1000 per meter, and that was some fifteen years ago now!

Nick Nicholson tole me it is possible to find fabric like the walls and curtains or very close to it.  The color was very popular at one time and similar material was used elsewhere at the time - even in the USA.  The hard thing is getting the color right.  The description of the color is very exact.
