It was Alexandra who burned papers right after the Revolution, the girls did not do this then. Anastasia and Marie decided to burn their diaries while in Tobolsk. As an historian, I regret the loss, but as a mom and former teen, I get why they did it.

Alexei N did too, from 1916. (Apparantly Olga wrote a lot of entries for him.)

Even in the fictional Anastasia diary, I think one entry mentions how Olga wrote for entries in Alexei's diary when he was ill.

I think Olga A. and Sandro kept diaries as well.

But this makes me wonder... Did they had to?.. or was it because they wanted to keep a Diary?  or was it  some sort of custom among the upper class?

I think it was for the most part custom, but maybe rulers (and possibly spouses) had to. I don't really know though.

It was a custom. Many of my relatives kept a diary in those times. I keep a diary myself, for I don't want to forget my past.

I think the letters(and even the diaries)might have contained information that the family didn't want to go public(such as Alexei's illness). It also may have contained information that(this is my hypothesis,I don't know whether or not the Bolsheviks would've)the Bolsheviks might've taken them and read them.Maybe one of the girls wrote about sewing the jewelry into their corsets?I really don't know, this is my hypothesis.

zoya or whoever you are.
Frankly, you are trying too hard to act like a child, and this is not a kindergarten playground. I suspect you are far older than you want everyone to believe.
Regardless, this discussion group is for educational  purposes, and I must ask you to conduct yourself accordingly. First and formost, please SPELL in proper English to the best of your ability.  This is not "IM-land". the words are 'because' and "people" "anyone" "to see" "what" etc etc etc.

Maybe Maria and Ana's diaries were more personal and they cared about the privacy more than Olga and Tatiana?

And with Maria, could her diaries contain information on her friendships with the guards?  If the Bolsheviks find out, they might punish those guards?  Just another guess.

The words are "what" and "you" not wat and u, and somehow "amazingly" far more complex words seem to be spelled corrrectly... I think my case is proven.
