Are the diaries of OTMA (and Alexandra) published anywhere? Or are they online? Is there a book I could buy from amazon.com or something that is the diaries of OTMA?

Maria and Anastasia burned their diaries while they were "captive" (I don't remember where... :-/).  Nicky's diary has been preserved, I saw it (I think it was his diary) at the N&A exhibit.  I hope this helps.

Thanks. While I'm glad you responded, I'm dissappointed that their diaries were burned. Since I hear Nicholas's diary was basically just what time he got up and ate breakfast, etc.

Nicholas' diaries are a mixed bag. Tedious and like you said, mainly weather, food, etc. but they also contain who he met and when. That can be very interesting it piecing together  the daily lives and the events of they day.

Speaking just for myself, I hope that whatever is left from the Grand Duchesse's correspondence/diaries is eventually published.  So many things are probably still waiting to be unearthed!  

I'm sure it wouldn't be anything earth-shattering, just young girls musings, but given how interested so many of us are in every little aspect of their lives, I would certainly be interested to read previously unpublished letters, etc. of theirs!

This is something I want to see too. In fact, I was saving money to hopefully help publish these, however, when I mentioned my idea I got shot down and stomped on. Apartently someone is working on publishing something of their diaries.

So is the wherabouts of Olga, Tatiana, and Alexei's diaries unknown? Or have they been found? I heard some talk about how "it would be great if the published their diarie",  but then only little pieces of them are online...sorry if this is a stupid question,  :-/

It is odd that Alix and Nick's diaries were found and are accessible.....but not the kids'.

Some letters written to the GD's have been on display, as well as notes to each other.  I have seen quite a few letters from foreign children asking for stamps.

Does anyone know about ON's and TN's diaries? I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm more interested in reading the diaries of the kids. Anyone else feel the same way?

Also: did Anastasia and Maria have more than one diary each? or did they just have one book each? I know that my sister (actually my mom's her confirmation sponser, but we call each other sisters, so on topic right) and I have each finished multiple diaries and I wonder if the girls did the same.

I have seen photos of diaries belonging to the Grand Duchesses in various books about the IF, and read quotes from the diaries as well. They are in existence, I presume in GARF - of course Maria and Anastasia's 1918 diaries were burnt and so are not available. Also Alexei's 1916 diary (his first diary) has been published in its entirity (in Russian), the 1917 one is (I believe) missing, and there are many quotes from his 1918 one I think in A Lifelong Passion.
