At last.It was indecent and heartess to keep these remains in the State Archiwes of Russia!!1 TO tell the truth, I never understood why Orthodox CHurch opposed their burial without offering logical expalanation.

Ditto! I was thinking "at last!" too !

The family will finally be reunited. It was about time.

Fantastic news!!!

It all seems rather fast though as October 18th is only a little over a month from now. Does the date have any special connection?

You mean the foot dragging is finally over.

About time that Maria and Alexei are able to join the rest of the family.

Is there any truth to this? Their doing another round of tests on the remains?

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/11/russia-agrees-to-further-dna-tests-over-remains-of-romanov-children

It seems the church is dragging their feet and trying to delay it and no surprise Maria Vladimirovna seems to support it. The church is one thing but she is coming off looking like a fool, it won't get her anything she wants. "Premature" my ass!

If true I hope it doesn't delay the burial and it does happen October 18th.

Maria Sisi, I`m afraid that`s true. i guess the Church agreed on the burial of alexey and maria under the condition that the Russian Academy of Science continues tests. If necessary the authorities will agree to exhumate the remains in the Peter and Paul Cathedral. :-[

I wonder if it does come down to that whose remains would be exhumed. I doubt it would be Nicholas, Alexandra or any the girls since I believe the Church still finds their remains sketchy. Not Maria Feodorovna since the Russian government agreed with the Danish that in order to have her remains returned they agreed to leave them untouched. So George Alexandrovich again?

October 18th is only 36 days away! Such planning of an important event like this needs time and doesn't happen over night. I suppose in order to carry it out with the respect deserved and to please the church a small delay wouldn't be too bad as long as they plan a date for it to go ahead and it actually happens. No more lying in the storage closet, that's all!

If Michael (Misha, Mishka) is ever found will he be buried with the family too?

It's such a shame, and pretty amazing, that Michael seems to have been forgotten. He's the son of a Tsar, the brother of a Tsar and the first Romanov victim of the Bolshevik terror yet somehow he rarely if ever gets mentioned in books that talk about the civil war and the end of the dynasty :o They only mention Nicholas left him the throne and he refused it in barely a sentence.

Nicholas, Alexandra and the children come first, Ella and the Grand Dukes/Princes at Alapayevsk second, and third the Grand Dukes in the St Peter and Paul fortress. Michael's murder is nine times out of ten never mentioned.

I unfortunately don't see Michael's remains being found anytime soon. It would take someone with the dedication of a Philippa Langley for it to happen.

In the video:
1. The Director of the archive shows the edge of the tooth and Alexis.
2. Interview at Livadia in the office of the Emperor Dmitry Romanov.
3. Place Alexei Nikolayevich and Maria Nikolayevna. Distance from the graves of the Royal Family and Botkin - 67 meters to the left.
