I'm sorry if you posted a picture asking if it was the full one, I can't see it  :-[. But this is the full photo that I cut down a bit to make Maria bigger:

That's very nice picture of Maria.  Here's a more visible one.

Jesse, I like very much the picture you posted of Maria in this big meeting. It is new for me. Does anyone know where, when, which event?

I'm glad that you liked it  :D. But unfortunately I can't answer your questions  :-[. I think it's a really good picture though because to me she stands out so much from her surroundings, and is pretty much the only face that is fully visible or not busy (at least from what I can tell). She's also seemingly by herself with none of her siblings around. I really wonder just what she's doing there/what event is going on.

I really like this one, even though half her face is too dark, but I think that adds to it a bit, makes it more moody looking (in a good way of course).

A minor edit I did on one of my favourites to focus in a bit more on her hair  ;):

there is a beautiful image   posted on page 3 of this thread

it's of  Maria standing on what looks like a boat

I don't seem to be able to post the image here
 .....but this is the link

 http://img175.exs.cx/img175/4545/maria100ul.png

does anyone know the source of the image (  book/ archive etc )

the image is only 62k  and doesn't enlarge very well ( a good image requires about 500K)
I think it is a delightful image and  to me somehow shows Maria's spirit.

so would like to get a larger memory file for this photo

cheers .... Cosmo

I'm almost certain I have that image in one of my books, but I'm having trouble finding it. It was taken in 1914 on the Standart.

I'll keep looking...

Glad you found it, Laura. I never would have thought to look in that book. I was sure it was in Private World of the Last Tsar or Prince Michael's book.

Lanie -- It's the weirdest thing, but I can't find that scan to save my soul. It should be right in my Maria folder -- unless there ever a full version with anyone else in it...?

You're images are awesome and extensive Lanie! Sadly, I don't have your nice scan of Maria on the disk I got from you.
Maybe it was scanned after I got your CD of images?
