I agree with you about Kilduff. His research for Goring was obviously extremely thorough, and his conclusions ery judicious.

Goring always has been one of the more fascinating personalities of the Nazi era.

This sounds like a good read.

it is

Some other comments:

German Pistols of WW I shows how to load and fire the Mauser C96 pistol

The Summery part 4 mentions the Russians sinking hundreds of Turkish ships. Indy is right the Russians did sink hundreds of Turkish ships during WW I but most of them were small sailing vessels in the 50 to 100 ton range or smaller.

some more errata:

Week 80: the British merchant ship Franz Fischer a captured German ship was sunk by the U-boat UC-17. Not by aircraft or a Zeppelin. see uboat.net

Boris Sturmer was not a Rasputin appointee Nicholas picked him with little or no imput from Rasputin or Alexandra. Note Nicholas knew Sturmer the man had been a province governor who carried out Nicholas instructions and according to some accounts got along well with the local Zemsovs. He had also been the assistant Minister of the interior and Nicholas had thought about making him Minister of the Interior in 1904.  it also should be pointed out Nicholas hoped he would get along with the Duma not the government as mentioned

This week also has a wartime picture of Nicholas and Alexei

Week 81:
The picture of the raider Mowe is wrong the real Mowe was a merchant ship.

It also misidentified King Victor Emmanual III of italy

Out of the trenches after week 80 Has a question about dropping poison gas on cities. The Germans thought about Zeppelins doing this to English cities and with Germ warfare but kaiser Wilhelm II forbid it. KWII may have been portrayed as a villen during WW I by Allied propaganda but in real life he was a restrianing force to stop such extreme measures.

Out of the trenches after week 81 cocaine use there was alot of it in Russia during WW I and the Civil war period as well as lot of other drugs being used.

Osoweic the attack of the dead see the wiki entry of Osoweic fortess it did happen

A comment on the Zeppelin section on this channel the Zeppelins did have the range to bomb Petrograd and the Kaiser ordered a bombing campaign against the city named Operation iron cross. the problem was while a zeppelin did take off to bomb Petrograd on some occations it had to abort them all do to the bad weather of the winter of 1916/1917

I forgot to mention indy got his information on cocaine use from the great war forum from a posting that I made a reply to :).

Quite a contrast to the damage the German Air Force would do to London a generation later.

A great war channel folly In the Great war special Rumania in WW I between weeks 110 and 111 they have a picture of Olga Nikolaevna 1893-1953 (!) her real dates should be 1895-1918. I am not 100% sure this is the right picture of ON.

The great war channel has done it again their posts on Rasputin and week 127 right after this which deal with rasputins murder have somany errors I doubt I could name them all. Watching them would probably drive up the average Romanovholic on this sites blood pressure here are some:

Sturmer and Protopopov are trying to destabilize Russia to bring on a revolution at home and make peace with Germany. They weren't.

Protpopopov got the police machine guns to mow down protestors ect. It didn't happen

Rasputin had a big funeral Nicholas and Protopopov carried his coffin. It didn't happen see M Nelpa's account of the funeral.

Protpopov was ploting to kill Duma leader Miliukov. It didn't happen.

I pointed out this to Indy and he  says he is going to read nelpa's book and I also told him about this site so hopefully Indy and Co will be better informed on Russia during this period.
