The Fall of the Romanov Dynasty (1927)
« on: February 26, 2017, 03:52:04 PM »
This documentary seems to be made out of 60.000 metres of film seen and cut by Esfir Shub, a pioneering Soviet filmmaker and editor. I was curious if anyone of the other forum member ever had the opportunity to watch this. It seems much of the original film came from personal film archive of Nicholas II.

It is very interesting some of the footage I have seen before but there is a lot I haven't seen. The film clips of Perishkevich and Illiodor may be the only ones of these men. From what I have read there was a lot of film footage from this period and earlier that did not survive.
