Well, good for you for quitting! That's more than most people can do. Unfortunately, the family wasn't aware of the effects it had on their health. I've read that on the Rus, there was a request made for cigarettes and cigars but it was denied. I wonder if the girls were able to do it in Tobolsk or Ekaterinburg?

I'm a little unsure how to do all that(finding unheard of info)but I really just want to get every bit of info I can into a format that other kids my age can understand, and that adults who don't know much about Anastasia can still get info out of.Thanks for your advice.I may  need a lot of help.

You will really have to work hard and it may take years to get it good enough for publishing.

For instance; there is already a book fitting that discription called, "Anastasia's Album". You probably already have it if you are really interested in Anastasia. That book had (for the time it was published) new pictures, many that were hand-colored by Anastasia herself, new letters, objects belonging to the family, and information that children and even adults would find interesting. If you want your book to be published it has to have those kinds of things. You can't just use the old run of the mill photographs and letters and information and expect a publisher to be interested in it.

That said, you should plan a trip to GARF and read as many books as you can.

I purchased Anastasia's Album from Amazon after borrowing the book from my local library. It's absolutely wonderful and perfect for all age groups, too. Highly recommended!

Another title written with a younger audience in mind is Anastasia : The Last Grand Duchess  by Carolyn Meyer. Once again, I found it quite enjoyable despite the fact I'm well past the intended target ages for the book.

I really doubt you have read every single book about the Romanovs there is. There are ones you've probably never even heard of. There are still some I'm trying to get access to that are out of print and hard to find! ;)

GARF is the Russian archive in Russia. That's where you can find the families diaries, letters, albums, etc. You will need such things if you want the book to be published and if you want it to be as interesting as possible. If you're only a 6th grader, I'm guessing you're about 11 or 12 -- you're very young so I would say you should just keep on researching and get a folder (on the computer or a real one) and just add all the information and facts you can into it. Add everything you would want to put into your book and when you get a bit older you can sort it all out and begin on forming the actual book. Maybe read up a little on publishing and how people get their books published.

"Anastasia: The Last Grand Duchess" is a nice book for younger readers, even though some of the facts are skewed. I owe that book a lot. Also, "My Anastasia" is another one.

I wish you much success in reaching your goal. Don't forget to read in the AP site, about Bob Atchison's dream as a youngster. Thanks to his dream. we all have this wonderful AP site and forum.  I am certain you will eventually get to the primary sources, and find exactly what you need to write a unique book on Anastasia.
All the best, Kitt

I'm a major Anastasia fan who is trying(semi-successfully) to write a book about her life.Could someone help me check facts?None of my friends other than one(her username is Jemmy, she is new)cares.Fact 1: Anastasia was born on June 18 ,1901. Correct?

She really was quite a charming girl.

Very true! "Olga had grace, wit, and good looks; Tatiana is a regular beauty; Marie is so sweet-natured, good and obliging, no one could help loving her; but little Anastasia had personal charm beyond any child I ever saw." by Margaretta Eagar. "For all her weaknesses, you were bound to love this child, because you could not escape from her irresistible charm, made up of freshness, enjoyment of life, ingenuousness and simplicity." by Pierre Gilliard.

I have already tried some of your suggestions, but I hadn't thought much about the GARF. I don't think my parents will be very happy about me suggesting a trip to russia however, so I guess I'll just have to keep looking on the web for information and books.( Holly, you were right, I'm sure I haven't read every Anastasia book, even though I've read all you have suggested. I was just trying to say  that my library has an extremely limited selection.)

Yes, that quote is definitely about Anastasia! :D

It’s true, I’ve found that Monsieur Gilliard wrote more about Olga than the other girls. Possibly because she was the most interested in learning, and therefore he may have gotten to know her the best…
