Don't worry Stacey! Tsar by Kurth speaks about it, so you've not invented it at all ^^ i was just wondering why Dehn didn't write about it . but i'm sure Saruska will be able to help us better than i can do!

It's in Tsar by Kurth. In my italian translation it is on page 145 when there is a moder photo of Ap's gate.

I think it may be from Lili Dehn's. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Haven't found it in Buxhoeveden's or Dehn's memoirs. I know I've read it in more than one book. Possibly Kurth's or Lovell's books on Anna Anderson and/or Nicholas & Alexandra.

My edition of Tsar has not notes, so i can't help you and myself. I've looked for them at the end but no way. Maybe translators did not want to make an extra effort. I didn't find it in Buxhoeveden or i Dehn either.

I think I remember reading it in an Anna Anderson book by Kurth or Lovell. Unfortunately, I have neither of these now as they both ended up as compost a few years ago.
