Plaque to commemorate Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna
« on: November 06, 2019, 01:54:40 PM »
The Riverdale Historical Society (Toronto, Canada) has announced they will erect a plaque next fall at the site where Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna died in 1960.

After emigrating to Canada in 1948, the Grand Duchess lived in a small farmhouse in Cooksville, outside Toronto.  After the death of her husband, and in failing health, she lived with a family of Russian emigrés in a small apartment above a hair salon in Toronto at 716 Gerard Street East where the plaque will be installed.

I think it was earlier this year one of her paintings was sold at Waddingtons Art Auctions in Toronto. I think it went around $1000. Felt I couldn't afford it then, but I still think about now and then.

Looks like it's not going to copy the image, but another of Olga's paintings were sold at Wads.
