Yes it is a bizarre arrangement. It seems to suit them though. Perhaps Ilias you should propose yourself as their true Prince and see what support is forthcoming. Ride in on a white horse and wear a dashing uniform.

Ilias there was no referendum in France to end the reign of Napoleon III. He was deposed. As for the Greek deputies they may well be gutless. They could also realise the issue of restoration is dead in the water. Where are the people out in the streets in Athens and other Greek cities demanding the return of the former King? The answer is they are not interested otherwise there would be massive demonstrations in his favour. Constantine long ago accepted the results of the referendum.

I was talking about the Bourbons actually.
Napoleon was a lunatic and his family/decendants were and probably still do want glory and power, a bit like the Greek Republicans by the way,as for Karamalis' deputies, I said they were Royalists, not proactive Royalists. As for the people of Greece, you might be surprised.

Oh and if any one wants to argue with me about the so called great French Emperor Napoleon, who killed, robbed, pillaged( and probably raped aswell,)throughout Europe,,
I wish to draw your attention to Alan Schom's book,(I just finished reading it for the nTH time.)
It's called amazingly,    Napoleon Bonaparte,

When has a lack of language ever stopped a gallant Prince to be young Ilias? Ride that charger and take the crown that is waiting to be yours!!! ... smile

Well Napoleon was the one who said the crown of France was lying in the gutter waiting to be picked up. He did transform France and gave it and Europe the Napoleonic code. He also made Kings of many who had never been Kings before such as in Bavaria. Of course millions died in his wars. His greatest mistake was attacking Russia and also the mess in Spain. Like many before him, he overextended himself. Some have said that France has been revolting since 1789. Others have said this has been the case for many centuries earlier. I shall let you all be the judge for yourselves. A good starting point is the Cambridge History of France. It does not make comfortable reading though so be warned as it is full of treachery, murder, greed and lust for power. I guess it has that in common with the history of mankind. Napoleon I was a touch more gentile than the odious little German dictator of the 20th century.

would the Greek royal family be better appreciated if they had made royal marriages or even married Greeks? What do people think of the Crown Prince and his wife?
