Has anyone ever heard of an estate called Terpilitz(a)? It was not far from St. Petersburg. It belonged to the Wrangels.
I have heard that it doesn't exist anymore.

The Wrangels' main estate with a mansion was in Torosovo, and the ruines of it are still on their place. The village Terpilitizi also has some ruins of the past Wrangel's inheritance.

Thank you for your answer. Torosowo I don't know. Terpilitza (Terpilizi) was the estate that belonged to my great-grandfather, Nikolaj von Wrangel. My grandfather was born there. I think it's Kingisepp now. But have you got any idea if there are pictures to find of the ruins? I'm really curious as we don't have anything left. Nikolaj bought later the estate Kirna (kernu) outside of Tallinn. That still exists, mentally ill people are living now in the mansion, which was build, so I just read by Alexei Bobrinsky, the illegitimate son of Catherine the Great. I'm trying to find as much information on the family as possible. So if you know anything more about Terpilizi it would be great. Forgive my bad English please.
Thanks

Karenina,

You may find here some artistic shots of the ruins in Torosovo (in  tthe part named "Environs") it is a pity that such a beautiful estate fall into ruins...Wrangel was a great man, it would be great that someday a museuem ot his memory open there...

Rojdestino was the family estate of Anya Vyrubova, and it was near Ilinskoye.  There is a lovely map that someone posted on this forum, but Rojdestino isn't listed on it.  From what I've read elsewhere, all the manors were nationalized after the Revolution; the Taneyev estate doesn't appear to exist anymore, but does anyone know where it originally was?

Thank you :)
