Even though King Paul does not take after his father in looks, I have always seen a strong resemblance between King Constantine and his grandfather.  Has anyone a photograph of Paul Brandram?  I would be interested to see if he has any likeness to the Greek/Danish family.

I have never considered this before but you are correct and on to something.  Paul was of a much larger physical stature than the other Royal Greek Males of that generation.

To me (and this will sound strange), Paul has a very American "Mid West" look.  In uniform, he has the posture of a high ranking officer of the USA  Armed Forces.  Much like my father-a Marine Corp Veteran.

Like another poster said, Paul had the height of both his father, and his uncle, Prince George.  Do not forget that his other brother, King Alexander, was also very tall.
It seems that only King George II, his other brother, received the short gene.  Out of all three brothers, you could tell Paul and George were brothers, as they do have a resemblance.

And in regards to Katherine, I disagree with everyone on this board.  Katherine definitely has a resemblance to her sisters Irene and Helen, and in my opinion, bears a striking resemblance to Irene most of all.
I doubt very much that Katherine had someone other than King Constantine as her father.

I don't know if it's true or not but a resemblance could also exist because they had the same mother. IMO Irene and Helen took after Sophie & the Hohenzollerns rather than the Danish/Greek side.

There is a photograph of Paul Brandram in Marlene's book.  He has the same shaped hairline and the wide forehead of Tino, shown with Sophie on another page in the book.  

In my opinion he is Tino's grandson.

c) the age gap (9 yrs?) between Katharine and her next sibling has led to questions.

Fodder for discussion:

If this tale is true (and it may well be), why would Helen discuss her sister parentage with anyone let alone someone outside of the family?  

To me this says something not so nice about Princess Helen, Queen of Romania.

I've always thought Alexander looked MUCH different than the rest of the family. He had a darker look, almost like a true Greek.  Anyone have pictures to post?

Menopausal babies were not uncommon in the past.

I realize this--it's the combination of the factors. I'm not saying whether it's true or not. Just the some of the reasons for speculation. Sometimes these children are looked on as 'reconciliation babies' as well--witness the birth of Prince Andrew so long after Princess Anne and following a rather bad patch between EII & Philip.

Another harsher term I've heard over here is "band-aid babies."  

Tino didn't strike me as being particularly tall. His brother George, yes. Any one know how tall he actually was? Of course I'm not speculating that Paul wasn't  Tino's just from height alone, I just meant that he looks very different from his brothers and sisters, in my opinion.

I wonder...were there ever any rumors to the affect that Prince Christopher wasn't George I's child. He was born way after the other children. (Sorry, maybe I shouldn't stir all this up!)

I don't think I've read of his exact height but I think it was Vicky who spoke of him and Greek Georgie as being 'giants'. (Of course this is by 19th century royal standards   ) I always had him in mind about 6'0".

Of course in some families, all the children look just alike and in other families, all the children can have a different look. My own brother and I look nothing alike and most people would not think us brothers- he with dark skin, dark, straight hair, blue eyes and me with light, freckled skin, blonde curly hair and green eyes. I take after my mom's side and he takes after our dad's.  He has twin daughters, one tall and skinny with light freckled skin, red hair, green eyes, and the other shorter, olive skinned, brown hair and brown eyes. It always amazes people that they are twins.

I came across this:

and Pavlos were 6'6''). Prince William and Prince Harry have definitely gotten their genes from Prince Philip and Diana. " It seems that poor George II was 'just' 5'10". Constantine II is tall, not as much as his father, but several of his sons are apparently about 6'6". CP Felipe (who inherits 'tall genes' from his father was well) has the same Greek blood through his mother and he's about 6'6" as well. Princess Alexandra of Kent is 6' The Greek/Danes (with some tall Russian tossed in courtesy of Queen Olga's genes) seem to hold up pretty well.

It seems Harry and William were fated to be tall between that mix.

Does anyone have more photos of Katherine as a teenager and adult?  Are there any in "Born to Rule".. .no need to post if you don't want just tell me where to find them!  What would be great would be all of Sophie's daughters together as adults.  I see lots and lots of Irene with Helen, probably because of the age differences, but hardly any of K.  I do know she's was in Marina's wedding party.  I don't particularly care about her paternity, all that matters to me is that she's Vicky's granddaughter and Sophie's daughter!
