I don't see Prince Nicholas in the second photo.  ??? Only his wife Elena and two men.

I never realized before that this tiara/kokoshnik of Helen survived the revolution

Yes. Olga got the Cartier tiara, Elisabeth got the Russian diamond fringe tiara and Marina got the diamond and pearl tiara. All have been worn by Grand Duchess Elena at some point.

Olga got one more tiara from her family...she wore it at her wedding and the ruby tiara from her grandmother according to some newspaper sources in Serbia a while ago...plus,she had Demidoff tiara just for herself which is still in the family...

I think the ruby one was from her grandmother. Somebody told me all the grandaughters of Queen Olga got jewelry from her. Olga did have other jewels from her rich husband too. I think Wooley got the least of the three sisters.

That is mere speculation!.Just because Elizabeth died young (thus not out living her mother) and during her life she lived much less in the spot light than her sisters it is harder to know what she recieved from her parents apart from the fringe tiara and a diamond rivere (all the sisters were given one on their marriage)...however it is supposition that her children did not inheit from their grandmother what would have been Elizabeths share had she outlived Princess Nicholas....Count TJ also owned some grand family items including a very impressive diamond floral diadem.

Indeed. Perhaps since Elizabeth was not a working royal that she got fewer gems. People knew what Olga and Marina got since they saw them wearing the jewels. The Countess has less opportunity to showcase what she had got. Most certainly what she recieved from the will of her grandmother is unknown.

True, but her husband Count von Toerring-Jettenbach was very rich and we may assume that he provided for her...in terms of jewels I mean!

Perhaps...Perhaps...Perhaps !!!( with no disrespect to Doris Day!)...Perhaps because Elizabeth was not in the spotlight we do not know that she received even more splendid gems on her marriage than her sisters!..Likewise because her 2 children are not as well known as their cousins we do not know what glorious gems they inherited from their grandmother in 1957!!...stop speculating Eric and posting for postings sake...remember whether its postings or jewels.....qualiry over quantity....AND less is more!!

Seeing is believing. Also although Toto's family was rich, in David Balfour's book Elizabeth 's brother-in-law Prince Paul of Yugoslavia described his sister-in-law as looking wretched. "it is heart-breaking to see that beautiful creature come to this.". Also we do not know if they sold jewels after the war years, when life was difficult. It is interesting that we did not see Elizabeth wore the diamond floral diadem that belonged to the family.

Anyway lets go back to the discussion on Grand Duchess Helen & Prince Nicholas. In the books on Marina, Helen did sold some jewels for charity after asking for her daughters's opinion (after all, they were part of their dowry). All the girls agreed and the jewels sold and donation made.
