s.v. - thank you for your quick answer - I will post a list once I get home from work. It will be nice to be able to find new homes for them instead of collecting dust.

To all you well read posters - if you could recommend just one book to me on the Romanovs/Imperial Russia which one would it be? (hope its ok to ask this question here) Thank you in advance for your input. Hopefully I will get some new ideas for purchases. Have a great day!

For me, it would have to be Robert K Massie's 'Nicholas and Alexandra' if you want a good, detailed read of the story up to July 1918. Most people on this forum probably started with that book at some early stage of their interest. Then you could follow it up with same author's 'The Romanovs : The Final Chapter', which takes the story up to 1998 (the burial of the family) and looks at all the impostors. If you want a photo book, my personal vote would go to 'Nicholas and Alexandra' ~ The Family Albums, by Prince Michael of Greece. Sadly it's hard to find and expensive when you do find it! I have spare copies of both the Massie books if you'd like them : send me a PM with your details if you would like them.

I fully agree with s.v.markov.
I do think "Nicholas and Alexandra" by Robert K. Massie is a great start to the story. I too have copies (hard and soft cover) to send out if anyone wants one.  :)

OK - here are a few books that I would love to pass along - sadly only one is Romanov related.

The Secret Plot to Save the Tsar by Shay McNeal
Atonement by Ian McEwan
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond
Abundance: A Novel of Marie Antoinette by Sena Jeter Naslund
Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling by Ross King

If you are interested please let me know! I will have more once I go through them all. Thank you to s.v. & Laura for your generous offers - N & A is the very first book I read many moons ago. I already own the books that you mentioned but I thank you for your input - I'm always looking for something new. I have to say that everyone here has been very kind to me and this newbie appreciates it.

Aloha Felix!

So glad to hear from you - you have been missed!

I'll be on the watch for your next books - I missed the first time around!

I just got back from a trip to Moorea, Tahiti -- so wonderful!  Here is a pic :

Temae Beach - Moorea -- doesn't it look like a postcard?
