I will say Romanov Autumn is a dream! I was fortunate enough to buy it previously before it became so hard to get.

It's not a typical illustrated Rosvall book. The pictures are the type you regularly see in biogrpahy in size--not the full or half page of an illustrated book. There are also portraits sketched by Charlotte Zeepvat herself which adorn the beginnings of the chapters.

What a pity that this thread has been idle for so long! We need to re-activate it! So here goes :

'Romanov Autumn' ~ Stories from the Last Century of Imperial Russia ~ by Charlotte Zeepvat. 1st prinrting, hardback (2000), as new with jacket. A collection of 25 stories, some familiar, many less so. Illustrated with b & w photos. See APTM Bookfinder for more details.

Will keep it for one week to give as many people as possible a chance to tell me why they would like to have it. Willing to send anywhere in the world!

So why would I like to have this book? I have heard nothing but praise for the Romanov Autumn and it interests me very much because I love learning more about the extended Romanov family, not just NAOTMAA. To take a peek into their private life, learn about the lesser known stories too. Who they were as a person as well as historical figures? How did they live? Quirky anecdotes, little details of their life. Also, I’ve been trying to get hold of this book for quite some time with my (unfortunately) extremely limited resources, but others have beaten me by being quicker than me or having more money.

Romanov Autumn would definitely find a loving home in my tender care. :)

Best regards,

Anna

I wish I had enough copies for everyone, but sadly I only have one, and it now has a new home. I do occasionally see it on my travels, and will certainly buy any copies I come across and let people know. Thank you to all those who responded, either on here or via e-mail. I hope another six months do not go by before this thread is active again!

Some copies of Romanov Autumn have popped up (used) on Amazon for $25 and under. That beats the hundreds of dollars they were going for in the past!

S.V. Markov, I'm having trouble trying to send you a PM, the message just won't send. So could you email me to the address I have in my profile?

This is not likely, but should anyone in the future want to get disposed of Maria Pavlovna´s "The education of a Princess" and "Little Mother of Russia" by Coryne Hall, I would be most interested. Thank you.

I don't expect to have much luck with this, but I'm going to ask anyway: Does anyone have an extra copy of the French-language book Nicolas Ier by Henri Troyat?
