To correct Helen A.  The photo was most likely taken before the arrest of the family.   OTMA's hair was to the nape of the neck. 

That is a much clear pic Tasia.  She looks lovely there.

End of the Romanovs, where this picture was found, has some of the most abominably incorrect captions you'll ever see.

I think this photo was most likely taken during the IF's 1916 visit to the Crimea. It looks to me like she's standing beside the train.

I'm sorry if this one has already been posted, and I'm too new to know how to post it, but there is a photo out there of Nastasya sitting at a desk writing, in Yekatrinburg, which is presumed to be one of her last, if not officially her last pic.

Like I said I really don't know how to post it from a folder on my desktop, but I'm sure someone else out there has it, and if they do could you please post it? Thanks!

The photograph you're describing was taken in Tobolsk, not Ekaterinburg. And it is not her last known photograph. The last known photograph of the children (except Maria) were taken aboard the Rus on the way to Ekaterinburg. It's a common misconception.

OTAA left Tobolsk on 7/20 May and arrived in Ekaterinburg on 10/23 May. The latter half of the journey was by train, so the photo was probably taken on the 7th or 8th (old style).

The imperial family was killed on 4/17 July.

Does anybody know if, in Anastasias' last known photograph, her hair is up or it's just too short? or is it awig? Has her grown back enough to be put up?

I don't know what "awig" means but i believe on the photo she is with short hair.Holly can tell for sure.I just know her hair was somewhere below the ears.

Her hair was definitely reaching her neck but I doubt it was quite long enough to put up the same way they did when it was long. It wasn't much longer than it was in the first picture I posted. At the time of their deaths it was reaching their shoulders. They were all wearing hats so I'm certain they just left their hair as it was on the Rus.

Ah, thanks Holly. I didn't know their hair was reaching their shoulders by the time they were killed... I though it was shorter. It's hard to say because in most of the photos they were wearing hats...
