Very tricky question...King Nicholas openly supported Austrians on some questions and when happend that the same Austrians bombed Montenegro people of Montenegro were very angry and kicked out their King into exile and Montenegro was annexed to Yugoslavia because Prince Regent(later King Alexander I ) was his grandson who didn't have the same politics view as his Monetenegrian grandfather King Nicholas! He left big part of his goverment in Montenegro and they didn't know what to do and they sought some kind of protection from King Nicholas grandson who was then Prince Regent of Serbia and Senat then the supported him instead of exiled King on therms that he was not anymore legally ruler wich meant that he should have Senat support behind him!

Here's the little that I know.  She was born Princesss Jutta, Duchess of Mecklenberg Strelitz.  The daughter of Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich V and Princess Elizabeth of Anhalt-Dessau.  Also she was the Great Great Granddaughter of George III of Great Britian.  Her paternal Grandmother the Grand Duchess Augusta was the first cousin to Queen Victoria and aunt to Queen Mary consort of George V.  She was also the sister of Princess Marie of another much discussed thread on this site.  It has always intrigued me how a German Princess from a tiny Grand Duchy in far northern Germany ended up as Crown Princess of tiny Montenergo.

J. I think from what I know it happened in Russia! Like Elena and her Italian Husband . Her sisters-in-law must have played a part. And they did.

Militza(Jutta) was officially Queen for just seven days...until her husband Crown Prince Danilo resigned!I was wondering, but don't know why they didn't have kids...but know that Crown Prince Danilo(had many mistresses) and Crown Princess stoped with their marital obligations after just five years of marriage!

The real thing is that King Nicholas in the beginning didn't really know what to do with his daughters and he was in panic when he realised that his small palace would be soon full of spinsters, because Princesses of Montenegro were too much educated to marry ordinary people and yet not good enough to marry into some royal family! He built a monastery on Skadar Lake that schould be their home...,but then happened something that no one could expect!Russian Emperor Alexander III offered to be the patron of his daughters and brought them to Russia to Smolny Institute where everything began...I mean all those ''love matches'' that no one could ever expect!I was reading some notes from Prince Felix Yusupov's diary where he said that the Grand Duchesses Anastasia and Militza played leading parts at the Court of Russia at that period! He is also saying that these two Grand Duchesses were in St.Peterburg society circles called ''the black peril'' and that their palace Znamenka(near Peterhof and Strelna Palaces) was the central point of the powers of evil...

Stana is a nickname and also a shorter version of Anastasia! And Princess Anastasia of Montenegro got her name after her grandmother whose name was also Anastasia!
