My cousin worked in one of the Towers - Tower 2, but she was one of the lucky whose office was below 72nd floor - hers was on 67th, so she escaped.

:o
Your cousin is very lucky to have been able to escape.

Wow Mile, Switzerland looks simply gorgeous! I love the colors of the sky and clouds in the "rainy day" picture.
 :o
I would like to visit there sometime.

I'll second that!  Thanks for posting the beautiful pictures, Mile! :)

I suppose I should start asking again, for people who haven't said so, what are your names and patronymics?

Dear Helen_A,
I am so glad I mentioned about going to NYC. Thank you for that invaluable information about the WTC site - it will save me a lot of time! We were planning to go because it is a site of such historical importance, but it is a bit far from where we will be staying (near the Empire State Bldg.), so I am glad you have told me there is really nothing there to see anymore and so our time won't be spent in vain. It is somewhat disappointing, though. I had heard that there was a viewing platform around the site and thought it was still there. So if I go there anyway I won't even be able to get near it since it's just a construction site now? Can it be seen from a nearby building accessible to the public? Well, this is all good info. to know for others who may be interested in visiting the site as well.  I think that picture of the overpass leading nowhere is quite haunting, and I am also glad to hear your cousin escaped.

It looks beautiful, Sarai!  :)
Do you have Helen's star attraction equivalent in Mounties?  :)

Thank you, BT :)

And no, there are no "Naked Mounties" as far as I know ;D

PS - Miles, your pictures of Switzerland are very beautiful - a real treat to the eyes!

Hey nice pics guys!  I don't have any pictures I can scan of my home, but for what it's worth, it's a little town about ninety minutes south of Buffalo, NY.  Nothing much to see. ::)

Arianwen---   That's interesting what you think about Charlotte Church.  I always thought she had quite the gift for sounding so mature for her age.  But that's just me.  But I've sung "O Mio Babbino Caro" for auditions at the age of sixteen, and "Habanera" is one of my favorites to sing ever since I got her "Enchantment" CD when I was 13 (or 14, not sure).  I haven't actually had any chances to perform it for an audition or audience or anything, but I've regularly been singing it.  You're right that no one should be pushed if they don't have the talent to do those songs, but CC seemed to be quite a showstopper.  Those songs were always easy and fun for me, and I don't doubt the same was the case for CC.
But that's just me. ;)

Olga--- Is there a Russian equivalent for "Richard?"  Otherwise I'd be Mikhaila Feodorovna. :)

Aw, thanks soooo much! I payed for my ticket, and my dad payed for his...lol So there wasn't much for them to argue about, except for the location. It's a 4 hour drive to Peoria from Chicago, and it's on a Tuesday. (My dad was like, Get out the sleeping bags, we are going to get there early and get to the front front!) They are pit tickets, and it also helps that my dad likes Green Day too.. :P
The tickets sold out the first day they were sold here, so I had to pay $100 for each of them.  :o
But hey it was worth it! (Or, it WILL be worth it!)  ;D
But it depends on how old your daughter is though because , lol, those Green Day concerts get like,  suuper crazy...but I don't mean like moshing or anything...but I think you DO get what I mean.  ;)

So there's no Russian equivalent for Richard?  Maybe Rotislav?

I suppose you could have either. Which do you prefer, Fyodorovna or Rostislavovna?

Oh, well, I suppose I prefer Rostislavovna.  That is definitely "Richard's" equivalent?
