Hello again, Arianwen,
Another "thank you" for your willingness to talk to me, and for your compliments .
'Willingness to talk to you'? Why would I not want to talk to an intelligent, sweet, and delightful person? *hug*
I don't have any pictures without my glasses, which are a necessity due to my visual impairment. The lenses are transitional, so they get lighter in the indoor setting and at night. I will post some pictres of me in a different location so that you can get a clearer view of my eyes and what have you.
I always have to wear glasses or contacts, too. I remember looking into the little vision machine when I was going for my Virginia dirvers' license, and they asked me to take off my glasses and read off the smallest line I could see. 'What lines?' I asked. I saw only a grey blur. lol Therefore, I can't legally drive without them, but my vision's not really that bad. My poor husband can't see three feet in front of his face without his, and he's legally blind without them.
Thank you again for your compliments and kindness, and congratulations on your Master's Degree !!!! That is an achievement indeed, and I wish you all the luck in the world. If you don't mind me asking, what are you getting your Master's in? The fact that you had to write more then one thesis makes me think that perhaps you are getting more then one Master's. In any case, very impressive. I hope to be done with undergrad in two years time, and then I too will be on my way to Master's degree in either Russian or British history.
Thank you so much!
Honestly, I'm quite glad to be done so I get that ten-year break before my doctorate, but all the same, I miss going to lectures and learning so much each day...well, I suppose I'll have to compensate by expanding my personal library.
I did my undergraduate degree in modern history and languages (French and Latin) with honours at Exeter College, Oxford, and my tutors wanted a thesis on a topic of my choice in the history section, and an hour-long interview with my tutors in each of the respective languages. That first thesis was on the Romanov remains and my theory as to which daughter is missing.
For my graduate degrees, I chose to do music education and history, this time doing my thesis on Richard III, a subject I'm quite passionate about.
Music required a full recital in my primary and secondary instruments (voice and piano), and a thesis explaining my method of teaching music.
You are more then welcome to PM/IM me as well. I use AIM, and I'm on-line practically all the time. I hope you contine feeling better.
I'm on AIM all the time myself, though often with an away message up. I'm sending you a PM now.
Thank you again for the good wishes, and I'm continuing to get better, slowly, but surely. *sigh* It's the 'slowly' that gets to me.
P.S. Here's a picture of me during the summer during my visit to Pennsylvania. The girl next to me is Angie, who also posts on this forum, under the name of Vive_HIH_Aleksey. She lives in PA, and she was kind enough to have me come visit.
Oh, how lovely you both look! I still love how your smile lights up the rest of your face.
Warmest regards,
Arianwen
