I think he is close to his Aunt Irene, Duchess of Aosta, Lady Katherine Brandram and Queen Frederique.

i just read that Princess Yreny was at one point ment to marry Prince Harold of Norway but the marrige never took place because he wished to marry Queen Sonja.
it is said Yreny learnt Norweagen just in case :(

Nothing could be further from the truth.  Irene was one of a number of princesses linked to Harald, but there was never anything to a romance .. or much else.  I sincerely doubt Irene learned Norwegian .. "just in case."   Harald dated Sonja for more than ten years before finally he was finally permitted to marry her.

Aunt Irene and Queen Frederika have been dead for some years now, and Michael has little contact with Lady Katherine.  He was certainly close to Frederika and Paul, and has contact with Constantine.  Apart from Margarita, his children have limited to no contact with their royal cousins.  Several years ago, I put one of his daughters in touch with her Aosta cousins.

Well...It is strange as Michael's mother Helen was very close to her sister Irene. I guess that did not spill into the next generation.  ???

I think, Irene has a too dominant mother!
Friederike, like me a German, knows, what she wants!
One of her daughters has to marry a King in future! I heard, she gave parties on the royal ship with the hope, that her daughters will find on this way a partner! With Sofia she has luck! But I think, Irene has not so much Ability of getting through! I heard, that she went after the death of her mother to India to find here a new way of life, but she came back for to live in Spain!

Irene had more talent than beauty. Cecil Beaton called her "the ugly sister" in his diaries (the latest volume had much of the Greek Royal family). However Irene was generally liked in Greece and Madrid (where she lives now) and was a devout Orthodox Christian.  ;)

I guess a lot of people differ in their option of which is the prettier of the two sisters. I tend towards Sofia.  ;)

Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Born May 11, 1942 (1942-05-11) (age 65)
Cape Town, South Africa
Title Princess of Greece, Princess of Denmark.

Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark (born May 11, 1942) is the youngest child of King Paul of Greece and his wife Frederika of Hanover. She is the younger sister of Queen Sofía of Spain and of deposed King Constantine II of Greece. She is officially styled in Spain and Denmark as Her Royal Highness Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark.

She was born in Cape Town, South Africa, on May 11, 1942. She was a pupil of concert pianist Gina Bachauer and, for a while, she was a professional concert pianist herself. After her brother was dethroned, she moved to India with her mother. Since her mother's death, Princess Irene has lived in Spain in an apartment at the La Zarzuela Palace in Madrid, the royal residence of the King and Queen of Spain. Her niece, Infanta Cristina of Spain named her daughter Irene (born in 2005) after her. Princess Irene has never married and is close to her brother, Constantine.

She is the founder and president of the World in Harmony Organization(Mundo en Armonía [www.worldinharmony.org]) and also collaborates with other benefic foundations and cultural activities.
