Thank you. I am always after  the Bulgarian royals, they are  or were  easy to obtain in Bulgaria itself, until they discovered Ebay ! Friends still send them to me and I still buy them. Someday I should actually organize them as well.
[my favourites are of Alex. Battenberg]

Maria Pavlovna Sr. was the daughter of Princess Auguste Reuß, whose elder brother, Prince Heinrich IV Reuß-Köstritz happened to be Eleonore's father...hence Maria Pavlovna Sr and Eleonore Reuß were first cousins.

A poor victim of circumstances...both Kiril and Eudoxia were indefatigable in their support of their brother Boris III.

In the thread on Kyrill of Bulgaria there is a picture of Queen Eleanor's grave.  I have heard that it was defiled by the communists and then restored in 1994-95 time frame.  Was her body left intact in the grave. I imagine that they were looking for valuables.  Also the way Boris III and Kyrill's bodies were treated I was just wondering  what became of her's.  Also Pss Maria Louise of Bourbon Parma Ferdinand's first wife.

I was told the grave of Eleanore was NOT defiled. Ferdinand would not have buried any valuables with her- believe me.
It was untended and overgrown with weeds.
Kyril never had a proper grave. He was "dumped" in a pit with no markers at the back of the cemetary with the other victims.

I really wonder if Tsar Ferdinand attended Queen Eleanaor's funeral?  She seemed to only be a cover for his other antics he pulled.  I have never seen a picture of her happy.  Who could blame her. :-/  I remember reading an article in the NY Times on her death but it didn't say to much.
