Residences of some Grand Dukes in St.Petersburg

Hello everyone

Does anybody know where GD Sergei Michailovich, Georgi Michailovich and Dimitri Konstantinovich resided in St.Petersburg proper? And what about Petr Nicolaevich, Pavel Alexandrovich and all three Vladimirovichi (Kirill, Boris and Andrei)?

Hello everyone

Does anybody know where GD Sergei Michailovich, Georgi Michailovich and Dimitri Konstantinovich resided in St.Petersburg proper? And what about Petr Nicolaevich, Pavel Alexandrovich and all three Vladimirovichi (Kirill, Boris and Andrei)?

I believe that:
Dimitri Konstantinovich resided principally at Strelena Palace;

George Michailovich inherited the Mikhailovich Palace at the death of his father, GD Mikhail Nikolaievitch.  As I remember it this is an enormous palace so I wouldn't be surprised in Sergei lived there as well.  Remember that George had a place in the Crimea as well.

When Paul Alexandrovich returned from exhile he built a palace at Tsarksoe Selo.

I don't know where the Vladimirovichi lived other than the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess (Parents of the 3 boys) had the Vladimir Palace - another very large palace right in St. Petersburg.

I think that GD Konstantine and his family resided at the Marble Palace when they were in St. Petersburg. In fact, I think Princess Vera was born there.

Georgii Mikhailovich did not inherit Novo-Mikhailovskii on Palace Embankment upon the death of their father, his older brother Nikolai Mikhailovich did.  All three brothers--Nikolai, Georgii, and Sergei Mikhailovichi--lived together in Novo-Mikhailovskii; of course, in different parts.

As far as the Vladimirovichi:  Kiril had a palace on Glinka Street, Andrei had a palace on the English Embankment--28 English Embankment, and Boris had a palace in Tsarskoe Selo.

I just read in A Lifelong Passion that Anna Virubova first met Rasputin at Grand Duke Petr Nicolaevich and Militsa's palace on the English Embankment.
Does anyone know what Number the palace was?

Actually Petr Nikolaevich and Militsa Nikolaevna lived on Petrovskaia Embankment, near the St. P&P Fortress.

I knew that his brother Nicholas and his wife Anastasia lived in the palace he had built on the Petrovskaia Embankment.  Are you sure you're not thinking of him?
There are very few palaces on this embankment.

I knew about Andrei and Paul, but I'm still wondering where Petr Nicolaevich and Militsa lived on the English Embankment. Any information on them?

The palace that Petr Nikolaevich and his family lived in on the Petrovskaia Embankment is no longer there.  It was torn down in the 30s to make room for, I believe, the Comintern headquarters.

I don't suppose you have a picture of Petr Nikolaevich's palace on the Petrovskaia Embankment?  
I was wondering if it was possible he first lived on the English embankment and then built a palace on the Petrovskaia Embankment? His brother built his palace around 1910, so Petr may have done the same.
Can you provide any further info?

If I am not wrong, Ducky said their palace hadn't been wasted during the revolution. So what is now used for?

Kiril and Ducky lived at Glinka Street, 13.
I don't have any pictures or know how it is being used, but if anyone can post them, I would love to see them and know its current use.

Here is the Kyril Vladimirovich's mansion (hardly a palace) at 13, Glinka St. It's very close to the Mariinsky Opera Theater. Prior to being purchased for GD Kyril, the building was used by the Imperial Society for the Blind. Now it houses a kindergarten and several business offices.

Anyway Kirill's palace is very very modest, but maybe he thought he should inherit the luxurious palace of his father.
