BTW I read somewhere (I think it was in the Romanov Conspiracies by Ocleshaw, interesting but implausiable!) that Tatiana's B/D was 11th June I'm guessing this was wrong!

No, Tatiana was born on June 11th. It became June 11 after 1900.

Also--the feast day of a saint generally is on the date of his/her death, altho there are occasionally exceptions... :)

I get completely confused with the Imperial Family's birthdates. I don't understand the two different calenders. What would their birthdates be to us here in the US and the calender we use? Just Nicholas, Alexandra and their children. Thank you so much.

The difference between Old nad New (and today) Russian calender is 13 days. For example, GDss Maria Nik. was born on 14 June by Old style and so 26 June by New Style.

PM me if you'd like an explanation of the calendar. If you just want to know when to observe NAOTMAA's birthdates in the west, here are the dates:

Nicholas: 19 May
Alexandra: 7 June
Olga: 16 November
Tatiana: 11 June
Maria: 27 June
Anastasia: 18 June

(These dates will be accurate until 1 March 2100, when they will increase by one day.)

Thank you! Yes, I just wanted to know when to observe their actual birthdays. Also, when is Alexei's? I thought I read August 12th? Thank you again!

Whoops -- sorry. Yes, August 12 is the correct western date to observe Aleksei's birthday.

Sorry, Olga wasn't born at Peterhof, but at Alexander Palace? And Tatiana too?

About Nicholas' birthday, May 6/19th , it is said to be St. Jov day in Russia. Nicholas often compared fate of that Saint to himself one. And was dissapointed by that fact, since Saint died in terrible way, as he unfortunately, did too. He asked one minister -- 'Do you know when I was born? On St. Jov's day'. It said all about his thoughts.

I think Olga was the only one of the imperial children who was not born at Peterhof.

I think Olga was born at Alexander Palace in Tsarskoe Selo. As far as I know, Tatiana was born in Peterhof.

Thank you both. I did a research across Russian web, and found out that Tatiana was indeed born at Peterhof.
