It is wretched. Our hard drive died and the computer shop couldn't even get it to boot up off the system disk. I was afraid I'd lost EVERYthing (and it's in the 10,000s of photos--it's so sad). My hubby did not have an easy time of it that weekend as I was crying and yelling and wailing. Not only were there all the photos I've saved from ebay, etc...but all my own albums that I'd spent
months scanning and then cropping images from them, etc...I knew I'd never sit down and do it again. Then said hubby managed to hook up the new computer we had to buy to the 'a' drive of the old one and a bunch of other stuff to create a Frankenstein computer. He somehow--I still don't understand it--managed to copy the files to the new computer and save them. It took about 28 hrs all together. What a guy!
Needless to say he advised me to burn my images onto CDs which I'm doing--I think I'm going to hit about 100 by the time I'm done. :-/ So for all those out there w/computer problems my deepest sympathies--I just wanted to die when it happened.
