They're laying on a bench so that they hang off the edge.  Like when you're in a swimming pool and you lay your calfs on the ground and lean back in the water so that you're upside down.  Am I making sense? :-/

There's Tatiana, Olga (or Anastasia? I can't tell...), Maria, and Nicholas, as well as I think that's Anna Vyrubova, but who is the young man in the photograph with Nicky and the girls? It's def. not Alexei, this person looks too old.

I'm sure Lanie hit the nail on the head with the identitys. She does mention Nicholas, he's at the right end of the bench, but the "young man" is on the left side of the bench. I don't think we have an name indentity for him yet.

the "young man" is Rodianov, an officer of the Standardt and Nicholas' usual tennis partner at Livadia.
