Yes I agree about them being closest in personality too, and that does make a difference in how close they were. I have a brother like this too, we are so close and have so much in common it is uncanny, and as well, we are close in age, he is only two years younger than me. He is my favorite person in the world, and I think that helps me understand Anastasia and Alexei's relationship better. They were siblings who had more than just being siblings. And although perhaps sometimes Anastasia had to be told to play more carefully with Alexei, but other than that, they were friends as well as siblings.
