Hi!

I'm from Quebec. My ancestors were French, Briitish, Irish and Indian american people.

My chemistry teacher in high school used to say that a lot of things, including people, were made of "happy mixs" Don't ask me where she got that.  ;D

I am from Sydney Australia of  Scottish, Irish & English ancectory though I see myself as Australian nothing else.

Very best wishes to everyone.

Yes, we Australians rarely think about our background, do we?  I mean, apart from a bit of English and Scottish in mine somewhere, I wouldn't have the foggiest!  It just isn't talked about here, which is strange, I suppose... ???

I don't think it is that strange - after several generations of being settled in Australia, NZ etc most people wouldn't have much idea - and the further you go back, the more diverse the background is likely to be especially if from America or the Commonwealth as that many people from all over came to live in the 'new world'.

We have a census this year. Ethnicity has always been a big part of the census, and up till now we've had choices of 'European', 'Maori', 'Chinese', 'Cook Island Maori' etc etc. This year for the first time there will be a choice of 'New Zealander', which makes sense. That being said, in some ways I am so used to thinking of my 'ethnicity' as being 'European' even though neither born nor bred there, that even though logically 'New Zealander' makes sense, it could seem strange to tick it instead of 'European'.

I live in Cornwall, in the far southwest of England.
Born in London, half Cornish Celt, half assorted East European and Jewish descent.
I have also lived in Helsinki, NYC, Florida (WPB) and Israel.
