Was there a close relationship between Queen Ingrid, her daughters and her grandfather the Duke of Connaught?

Ingrid often visit and travelled with her grandfather before wwII.
the duke of connaught, died in 1942 under wwII and therefore he never saw Ingrids children or child born 1940, when Denmark was occupied.

In one of the R. Golden books (I think) there was also a cute picture of Arthur, Ingrid and her fiance Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark standing on stairs. Frederick is so much taller that he is the only one not standing on a stair to even out the heights--he had to be about 1 ft taller than Ingrid and had a few on Arthur.

That one of Ingrid, Arthur and Frederik is also in Queen Victoria's Family. If I remeber correctly they all have wonderful smiles on their faces. I like it alot.

Yes, I have many cards of Daisy, Gustav and family and I love the fact that they're always smiling. (Like Ingeborg and family--another family I love!) That's why I was so stunned to hear Gustav actually cheated on Daisy... I think it was written about on the Connaughts thread.

Although he cheated (I find it hard to believe as well) I think their marriage was still quite happy and loving. I am sure his extramarital affair was not started with love in mind if you know what I mean.

I agree that like Ingeborg, Daisy seems to have been very openly affectionate and loving with her kids. It is clear in the photos and is quite refreshing to see.

I'd like to start a topic about the duchess of Connaught, Louise Margaret of Prussia (1860-1917). I hope there isn't already a topic about her...
I know a few about her.. So let's post info and pics of her !

She was born on 25 July 1860 in the Marmorpalais in Potsdam as daughter of Prince Friedrich Karl of Prussia and Maria Anna of Anhalt-Dessau. On 13 March 1879 she married Prince Arthur of Great-Britain, duke of Connaught and third son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
Does anyone have pictures of her in her youth ?

I read that Queen Victoria was at first against this engagement because she thought Louise's teeth were ''plain" and the queen thought Louise's father ''too authoritarian''. These are of course silly reasons  But later she agreed.

I think they were in love, but later drifted apart. Luise was described by her daughter Patricia of being a mean ("Prussian") mother.
