What's impossible about 80 lbs? I know a 20 year old who is healthy and only 130. Alexei was a very sick/frail boy, and being only the age of 14 also had an impact on his weight. Back in those times, I believe people were a lot skinner then they are today. They ate a different diet, and lived different physical lives...

I don't think he was anorexic or bulimic. Certain haemorrhages, like say around his lower trunk etc, though would have made it difficult to keep food down, let alone eat. Also like someone said, people were generally thinner and fitter in those days - no processed, sugary food, and physical lives!

True,But I said " CLOSE" to becoming one (Bulimic)  after his last stupid thing he did, nearlly killed him. which made him thin as a twig. IF hes wasen't murdered in 1918,..few years later in life, maybe 10 % becoming a bulimic (because of illness and little stumach issues) .or  50 % getting better and gan weight...

Why would he have to be anorexic or bulimic to be thin? Some people are just naturally skinny, and his illness certainly didn't help his weight. When you're ill for months at a time, it takes a toll on your diet. Besides, at that point, they were all eating less. It's silly and pointless to assume him to be bulimic, especially in his frail condition.

Isn't bulemia where you gorge yourself until you can't eat anymore and then throw it all up? And anorexia is where you just refuse to eat. I don't think Alexei was either of these, since I've read that he loved eating and I don't think he would stuff his face and then throw it all up on purpose.

My friend  is 63 pounds, and totally healthy. She knows she's skinny, but she's not anarexic...she is also pretty short though...

No,..one of my friends Brittany is a little bigger then I and she became bulimic. you don't have to be thin to be builmic or anorexic....

and for Alexei being anorexic or builimic is just an "IF".

Georgiy -- I believe you've hit the nail on the head.   Any stomach troubles Alexei was said to have near the end were obviously tied in to his medical condition.   His sisters encouraged him to eat after Nicholas, Alexandra and Marie left Tobolsk in order that he might recover more quickly from his injuries, NOT due to any eating disorder:   suggesting a very 1980's spin on a very isolated adolescent boy of the 1910's.
