The wedding of the V Duke of Fernán Núñez and the argentinian Mercedes Anchorena. One of the girls is Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, XVIII Duchess of Alba. The V Duke of Fernán Núñez and the XVII Duke of Alba were first cousins.

When they returned to Spain, they established first in Cádiz and then in Madrid. After the death of her husband, Sally became one of the most famous salonnieres of Madrid, many of her guests were Americans in the city. The most prominent of her guests was the writer Washington Irving, American ambassador to Spain from 1842 to 1846.
