Several sources state that HRH Princess Letizia is having a girl again next spring.I can't get to the Casa Real website right now, seems to be very busy,as they have announced the news this afternoon. This means Infanta Leonor will remain second in line to the Throne and parliamentary discussiuns on primogeniture will be postponed, for the time being.

Hello! I very much am interested in history of Spain because in fast времении I am going to visit this country. Certainly, the Spanish royal family is very interesting to me. Therefore I have questions. It is the truth, what king Juan Carlos was against wedding the son with television journalistic? Because Letizia was not from royal family? It is the truth, what Juan Carlos does not love the wife of the son and the successor? It is the truth, what king was not glad to a birth of the grand daughter? Why the Spanish crown prince could not find the wife among representatives of the European royal families? Why wedding of the future king and the simple Cinderella became possible? Unless the simple girl can be equal to prince?

None of the European Princes Felipe's age married Royal.  Letizia being a commoner did not surprise me.

However, is it true she was divorced from her first husband?

Hello, TampaBay!

Yes, it´s true Letizia was divorced from her fist husband. She was married just for a year, I think, with a man who was her teacher at the high school (of course, they were married a few years later...). The first husband of Letizia is not only a teacher, but also a writter. Actually he´s married with another woman.

After her divorce, Letizia shared her life, for a short time, with a journalist. She was also a journalist, she worked at the tv´s news.

Hello, Dmitry. I hope you will enjoy so much your days here in Spain ;)

Well, I´m quite sure king Juan Carlos and queen Sofia were really shocked when their son, the crown prince, did announce them he was in love with a commoner girl, journalist and divorced from a first husband. I suppose the king and the queen needed time to accept Letizia as their daughter-in-law. But I think they love so much their little grand-daughter Leonor, she´s a very cute child and spanish people likes her.

Princess Letizia's first marriage to Alfonso Guerrero (born in Mérida, Extremadura in 1962) was only a civil marriage, i.e., they weren't married through the church, which is why there was no problem when Prince Felipe and she married through the church in 2004. He was her lecturer, and has published a few books. Indeed he is married.

Felipe's eldest sister, Elena, is married to Jaime (de) Marichalar y Sáenz de Tejada, whose father was a count. One of his brothers is a well known, playboysh adventurer.

The other sister, Cristina, is married to Iñaki (de) Urdangarín y Liebaert, who is Belgo-Spanish. He was a handball player and first met the infanta in Atlanta during the Olympic Games held there in 1996. It is said that his family has nationalistic inclinations and political connections with the PNV, the Basque Nationalist Party.

Erika Ortiz, younger sister of HRH the Princess of Asturias, has died aged 31 in Madrid today.Horrible news,so young, very sad news indeed for the family, especially for her 6 year old daughter Carla.

Erica Ortiz Rocasolan, born on 26th April 1975, died this morning at her home in Madrid. The cause of death, at only 31 years old, is still unknown. A few months ago she had separated from her husband, Antonio Vigo, with whom she was the mother of an only daughter, Carla Vigo, born in 2001.

The cause of death was suicide.  Terrible for any family to deal with.  Hopefully this will not be turned into a public spectacle, but left in peace as a private event within the family of the former Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, not something that has to deal with the Royal Family.

No official statement has been issued, anything related to the cause of death is speculation, pure speculation, and speculation has gone way over the top in Spain. But that it has affected the Royal Family is clearly obvious,as the deceased is the sister of the future Queen of Spain and to emphasize their support for the Princess of Asturias and the Ortiz Rocasolano family, they turned out in force yesterday,HM Queen Sofia returned to Madrid while being on a tour for the Coóperacion in Asia,to be with the Principes de Asturias and the Ortiz Rocasolano family at this difficult time.Opposite from what some circles like to believe and blabber about, the family is closely knitted. However I agree we should not make a spectacle out of this,on itself sad situation,on this Forum,as has been done on other Boards/Forums let alone the invasive press. As I had nothing to add to Yseult's moving tribute,I would have left it at that for tact and discretion's sake, but then that isn't,obviously,a commonly shared view.

My favourite dress of Letizia. She wore it on Mary of Denmarks wedding day. She looks so beutiful. More than the bride Mary ;)
