To Be A Princess

This is a children's book by Hugh Brewster and Laurie Coulter.  It contains artwork, photos and stories of thirteen princesses in history.  The section for OTMA contains their story, as well as pictures, a photograph of a Fabrege egg, and a beautiful painting of them by Laurie McGaw (who also did the artwork of the other princesses).  A watercolor by Anastasia is included, as well as a quote from Olga from her last letter from Siberia :  "Remember that the evil that is now in the world will grow more powerful, and it is not evil that conquers evil, only love."

Besides OTMA, the books has stories on:
Bloody Mary (1516 - 1558)
Elizabeth I (1533 - 1603) - The Rival Sisters
Marie Antoinette (1755 - 1793) - The Empress's Daughter
Victoria (1819 - 1901)
Ka'iulani (1875 - 99) - The Island Rose
Gauatri "Ayesha" Devi (1919 - ) A Princess Of India
Elizabeth II (1926 - )
Margaret (1930 - 2001)  The Little Princesses.

On the last page is a brief bit on today's princesses and their roles in society.

I found it very lovely and good for children to learn history.  :) ;) :D 8) :-*

I absolutly [glb]love[/glb] that book! I got it becuse I at first liked the Tudor sisters Mary & Elizabeth, but i found out OTMA was featured and i was ecstastic!
The painting of them modeled after a portrait is just gorgeous too.

Hi All,

I LOVE this book--wish I would have had this when I was a child.  I asked for (and got) this book for Christmas last year when I was 35!  The paintings are just exquisite.

Best,

Sarah
