Not really. Kira was interested in a Romanian prince, but was forbidden by Carol to marry. Baby Bee & Ena were trying to get Alfonsito to be interested in Ileana, but he was in love with Cecilia of Salm-Salm instead.

in 1932 the Associated Press reported that Kira:

is "denying reports of her engagement to the Prince of Asturias, former heir to the Spanish throne,". Victoria Melita confirmed that there "was no engagement at present, but my daughter shows a serious liking for the young man."

The AP is not always correct. Kira may have been interested but Alfonsito never did.

I think it could have just been press speculation but Victoria Melita did give a comment apparently.

Yes but the interest was solely on Kira's side only and not on the young man's if you read the quote carefully...

I did read it carefully--it was only a sentence long! I didn't indicate any preference on anyone's part--only that apparently the AP got a quote on the relationship from Victoria Melita so they apparently didn't pull the story out of thin air like so many royal 'entanglements'.

I have no doubt Ducky wished a crown for Kira, but it is just speculation without any indication of interest from the young man. In fact he wasn't interested in Kira at all.
