Does anyone know who currently owns the rights for Sandro's autobiography Once a Grand Duke?

The publishing house was Garden City Publishing Co.

Unless his heirs applied for an extension of copyright, the book is most likely out of copyright.  You have several options .. contact his heirs ... going through the eldest son's line, and also finding out what became of Garden City's assets (they may have been bought out by another firm)

Royalty Digest has reprinted both of Alexander's books. You might contact them  to ask about the copyright.

There are actually three titles in that series.  ;)

How about Once a Night is Enough"?     ;-)    JUST JOKING!

Actually the third book is  Twilight of Royalty

I believe the third title had to do with the courts of Europe.

Grand Duke Alexander's third royalty book was titled Twilight of Royalty, published in 1932.  Not as good as the two other ones, Once a Grand Duke and Always a Grand Duke.

I agree with Art, the most informative book in this series was the first one.

It has been claimed that books Two and Three were ghost written, which may explain the differences in style from the original.

Yes...the third particularly does not even sound like the Grand Duke.

Hello I am an avid Romanov fan and often surf the Net for new info on the last Czar and the Romanovs. I stumbled upon an e book called Always a Grand Duke penned by Grand Duke Alexander and was wondering Bob, if it is listed here in what I think is the most active and the famous Romonov site of all - Alexander Palace Time Machine. Thanks

Always and Grand Duke is the Sequel to Once a Grand Duke.  I know that it must be listed somewhere on the forum.  You could try the Book Finder section on the first page of the Alexander Palace Time Machine.

Try searching as well.

I don't recall seeing a thread devoted solely to Always a Grand Duke. At any rate, I know it's not in the Book Finder.

Have you read it yet?
