Prince Henry XXX of Reuss

Quite surprising that his mother was a mere baroness!

He was lord of Neuhof (today Radociny) in Lower Silesia and Jänkendorf (Němske Jenkecy in Sorbian) in Upper Lusatia. In both villages there were residences. Neuhof was wholly German-speaking before WW2, but I wonder if Feo and Heinrich's subjects in Jänkendorf may have spoken Sorbian, considering the village has a Sorbian name, even though the name, meaning German Jenkecy, seems like an exonym.
Берёзы севера мне милы,—
Их грустный, опущённый вид,
Как речь безмолвная могилы,
Горячку сердца холодит.

Speaking of Sorbian, funny that Fürst is wjerch or fěršta while Herr (as in Gutsherr, lord of the manor) is knježk.

Well, maybe it was sort of a love-match...or maybe Feodora's "condition" was known in those circles and some other "better" bred Princes would skip her...Or maybe, just maybe I think that the Kaiser Wilhelm II liked Reuss family in general...he later married Reuss princess to whom the previous Empress was the godmother...He also "master-minded" the marriage of his niece Viktoria Margaret to other Reuss Prince, although her parents were not thrilled...

Maybe, just maybe someone knows better than me ;)
