This portrait by Kaulbach c1903 is identified as GD Anastasia:

Yet in this photograph, two Kaulbach portraits are of GD Marie and Anastasia:

Could the first link possible be misidentified and should be Tatiana? Any ideas?

I couldn't open the link for the first picture, however, I was able to see that sensational picture of the portraits. It is very lovely.

Thanks,

Louise

Sorry to add to the confusion, but I've usually seen them identified as Olga and Maria...

Have you all seen the pictures I have up of the pictures in place on the site?  Have you see the Schaeffer catalog that sold two of them?  I have an original.  Kaulbach had a fantastic printing done of the series as a boxed set.  There is also one of Nicholas that he did in that series.  I don't know where it went.

Nice pictures and placed in a special corner that the family used a great deal and housed treasures to them including the eggs. Such a shame this room is lost. Has any one ever tried to colorize the room so we woudl have an idea what it looked like in real life?

Sometimes the daughters mention they had tea with mama in mama's sitting room. Did they mean the Maple room when they wrote this?

Yes, I've seen and saved them all for reference!

Do you happen to remember roughly what the two portraits sold for?

This weekend I promise I will put all the pages from the catalog up on the web. There are no sale prices.  I have asked Mark at ALVR and he says they have no records from this period.

After the revolution I would say. There is a rope which makes me think it was to keep visitors away from the exhibits, also the cabinet is empty above the cosy corner. AF used to keep some of her eggs there. Also there are empty picture wires hanging down.
