When I was looking around for photographs of Nicholas II's pets, I noticed there were many links to other royal pets but they are scattered  Since this  Bear likes lists,  I'm starting up a thread which provides the links to the various threads on this forum.

Bear, if I am not totally losing my mind, about a year or so ago, I think that Bob said here on the forum that there wasn't a picture of Eira....and there was some rumour that Eira was a Scotty dog that Alexandra got on a visit to Scotland, (Balmoral) but that no one really knew for sure.  
My ears perked up because I have a dearly beloved Scotty and I know Rob does too....so I have been looking ever since but no picture and no proof have turned up.  I really would like to know!!!

Mandie, This picture is so wonderful!!  Do you know anything about Eira?  What kind of dog is it? In the picture I can't tell....sort of looks like a Scotty face, but hair too light a color.  Where did you get this fantastic information??

There is a link at the top all about Eira, if you want to have a look.

I don't think anyones sure what breed she was, but I heard that she might be a Cairn.  She was buried on the Childrens Island, and died before, about, 1906.

In that picture, she looks like a Yorkie.

But in the top link there is not a "picture".....anyway I've given up the Scotty quest....Eira isn't one.  Did anyone have a Scotty?

I don't think Anastasia is holding Joy.  I think that's her dog Shvybzik, who died in 1915.
