Just read my last entry. My goodness, the words are scrabbled. Wonder how that occurred.
Next entry is about Alexander II found in Katharine MacDonogh's REIGNING CATS AND DOGS p. 53:
>>Princess Felix Salm-Salm recalled being joined by Alexander II as she walked on the promenade at Ems in Germany in 1870: 'after half an hour, which passed in a very pleasant and interesting conversation, His Majesty left, quite alone and unattended as he had come, except by a large mastiff, which followed him everywhere like his shadow.' The dog died in 1881 when a bomb was thrown into the royal carriage.<<
Anyone know the dog's name? Anyone know of a photograph?
Thanks.
