Here's a rather famous one of the Dowager Empress, Nicholas II & his daughters. Also there was one of Nicholas, Alexandra, the infant Olga & Marie Feodorovna. It's one of the few with Marie Feodorovna & Alix together.

Very nice picture of Minnie with her Granddaughters. It's my favourite, thanks a lot ! Does exist similar photos of the Dowager Empress with XĂ©nia and Sandro's children ?

Is the dog the Dowager's?

Anyone know the name?

I am looking for a photo of Grand Duchess Elisabeth in her nun habit with a Jack Russel [dog] standing near her.

Someone had posted it earlier but when the forum changed over to it's new look the link was lost.

So, now,  I"m looking or the photo so we can see it here, once again.

Thanks

Was this dog Elisabeth's?

If so,  is there any information about the dog?

 :)

I have no idea if this little dog was Elizabeth's or not.....I'd like to think that her charity extended to little creatures such as this doggie as well as people!

There are three dogs in this photo.

Does anyone know their names?

Since this is a photo of Alex. III's family,  I assume they are royal pets.

The large one on the left [as you view the photo] is one I've seen with Alex. III in another photo on the thread Alex. III photo tour where I found this particular photo.

Here Alexander III, his wife, children and brother GD Alexey are in front of Maliy Dvorets (Palace) in Livadia.

Any kind of information would be greatly appreciated.

I belive this dog to be a pug. How old is Alexander on this photo ? I know about another photo showing Maria Feodorovna as a young wife with three of her young children and a pug also and I wonder if it could be the same pug, knowing that pugs may live 14 to 16 years old ?

I don't know the age of Alex. III in the photo with the small dog which could be a Pug  or  a pup.

Ortino was a gift from Tatiana's friend Dimitri Malama in 1914. Now, when I read one of the letters that either Alexandra or Tatiana wrote, she mentions that Ortino had died. So Dimitri got her another dog (Ortino II) which is the one in the photographs. Jemmy was a gift to Tatiana from Anna Vyrubova in 1915, but she already had Ortino so she let Anastasia play with her (It's been discussed that Ortino was a she). So Jemmy was kind of the family pet, but Anastasia loved him best.

Yes Bear, there is this thread about Faberge Ortinos. I am wondering whether you know the exact date of the photo of Taiana having Ortino sitting on her knees and Anastasia sitting next to her, probably the most well known photo of Ortino. Most of the time it is dated spring 1917, after the Tzar's abdication but in a few books or magazines it is found dated spring 1916. Would you have any relevent pieces of information about the date of this particular photo ? Merci.
