Dear AGRBear, this link + article about Ortino was very interesting in its days, but is a bit dated now as we are getting updated news thanks to Russian / or " who can speak and read Russian " members of this forum ( particularly on the thread Alexis had a dog named Shot ).
As to the tiny and very beautiful Fabergé figurine shown in the article, it is not displayed in the museum of L'Hermitage in St Petersbourg, but in the Armoury museum of the Kremlin in Moscow. It may be nice to think that this figurine was part of GD Tatiana's presumed small collection of Ortino's figurines, but I am not sure there is genuine evidence for this, nor for the rather similar ( but less beautiful IMO ) Fabergé french bulldog figurine displayed at Cleveland museum.
