Does anyone know what happened to his widow Johanna Loisinger or their children Arsen (1890-1965) and Zvetana (1893-1935 )? Did they maintain much contact with their Hesse/Greek/Mountbatten relations? I can't imagine they were discriminated against given 1) how much Sandro was loved and 2) the fact that the family was a morganatic branch themselves.

It is clear to see where the Battenberg children got their looks from.  Julia/Julie is very pretty in a very contemporary way!

I know that she does not have anything to do with Alexander Battenberg. But there it is Clementine d'Orleans, mother of Ferdinand I.

Hello everyone,

I have a very important question for you. Does anyone here knows where is the exact burial place of Johanna Loisinger, Countess von Hohenau ?

Thank you!

From what I could dig up, it doesn't seem like they maintained much contact with the family, although I could be wrong.

Arsen, also called Assene, born Assene Ludwig Alexander, m. 1934 Bertha Hussa and apparently settled in Austria.  He was her third husband and they had no children, although her son Wilhelm by a previous marriage took the name von Hartenau and became a doctor in Austria.

Johanna died in Vienna so she may be buried there.  Alexander is buried at the Battenberg Mausoleum in Sofia.

Zwetana, born Marie Therese Vera Zwetana, m. 1924 in NYC Charles Boissevain and died 1935 in Germany without issue.
