I agree. These are lovely portraits of them.

Pretty done in my opinion. They get better as you scroll down. Olga looks more like a similar looking actress portraying her and to a lesser extent do does Tatiana. Marie and Anastasia are good though and Alexei is spot on.
i agree, Olga doesn't look like herself

Mr. Babailov did a wonderful job!

Olga's face does look off but I think what makes it look so off to me is that he softened her expression when I'm so use to seeing her look more serious. I know not all of her pictures are like that but that's how I think of her. The expression almost feels more Maria like.

Tatiana and Maria look gorgeous and Alexei looks spot on. Also in my opinion similar to how Winterhalter would beautify his subjects Anastasia looks a bit idealized.

I also think that the one of Olga looks least like the person portrayed, but they're all lovely!

Those portraits are gorgeous, I wish I had such skill. Olga indeed is not completely "perfect" in likeness to the real person, but the rest are very accurate. I think Tatiana´s likeness is captured the best actually.

The more I look at these the more impressed I am. The Olga picture is nice, it just doesn't quite reflect her accurately. T, M and Alexei are pretty perfect. I guess Tatiana's nose appears slightly different in this photo than her actual profile. The same can be said for Anastasia...a slight alteration that, as Maria Sisi points out, helps idealize & beautify her somewhat. That said I feel like the eyes, mouth region and overall shape of her face is perfect. Very nicely done all in all!

While examining the Wild Pansy flower study given by Nicholas to Alexandra on their 10th wedding anniversary (1904), I noticed that Faberge based his miniatures of the Grand Duchesses on drawings done by Kaulbach. Alexei is also included--does anyone know if the miniature of him is based on a Kaulbach drawing as well? I have never come across/seen such a work, but would appreciate other people's thoughts/insights.

You can see the flower here:

I'd like to see you color in that last one Ally. Maybe Paint Shop, or colored pencils?

I must admit I did think about colouring it, but then I realized there is nothing to colour. At least in my case, the colour magic happens thanks to the grey shades in a photo, but there are none here.

I am not sure if this is a magazine or a souvenir poster or what.....
