No, it is in the Ural region, before Siberia. Tobol'sk is in Siberia though.

I guess Ekaterinburg is kind of close to the border of Siberia, so many people confuse it with actually being in Siberia (myself included)  :).

It is spelled Ekaterinburg on the map above which gives you all the places often mention on these threads.

Ekaterinburg is located in Ural region just on the border between Europe and Asia .
There is an obelisque on the crossroad point of Europe and Asia.
