Artemisia Hristic was wife of a Serbian diplomat...They met and fell in love in 1886 and one of the reasons King Milan abdicated was her...He even wanted to marry her...They had a son-George who spent his life with his mother...at the beggining he was loved by his father!Artemisia soo n devorced her first husband(it took her 2 years)...Then she went to live in Istanbul where her parents lived,waited for a marriage-call from the King...Although he wanted marriage with Artemisia in the first place after some years he changed his mind...Than she haunted him throughout Europe...When she realised that she doesn't have any chance she wanted to raise her son George as a claimant to the Serbian throne,but she didn;t have money.Than she decided to blackmail the King with her letters that he has written to her ofer all those years!During that she even had an affaire with one count...In 1894 King Alexander of Serbia(Milans son) was a guest of Sultan Abdul Hamid and he used this oportunity and asked the Sultan to send the police and get all the letters from Artemisia...She was clever enough to say to the Sultans police that she needed 2 or 3 days to collect all the letters...In that period she coppied all of them and often used them,but the originals went to King Milan via King Alexander and Sultan Abdul Hamid....
Katarina Konstantinovic(also known as the scandal lady who was alsoPrince Michaels bride to be and cousin) married in 1868 an influential polititian Milivoje Blaznavac...He was her third suitor,first one named Damjan killed himself,second one Prince Michael of Serbia was killed in 1868 that left her with one-which was Milivoje Blaznavac!She was very pretty,but her grandmother Tomania Obrenovic said that she will give Katarina's hand to him only when she sees her grandson Milan crowned as Prince of Serbia(he later became King)...When he ''did'' his job than Katarina married 24 years older Milivoje and they had a son Vojislav and a daugher named Milica...He died soon in 1873 leaving her a widow!She later married her cousin Mihajlo Bogicevic(through her grandmother Tomania Obrenovic,nee Bogicevic)...They lived in Austro-Hungarian empire and later when things calm down in Belgrade!She was spending too much money...After several years of marriage she again fell in love with her sons friend who was 18 years younger and left her husband...She was financed by her brother Aleksandar Konstantonovic(father of Natalia-Princess of Montenegro) and her wealthy half-sister Simona Lakhovari who was married to a Romanian minister and who was also was lady in waiting of Queen Elisabeth of Romania...Simona had a huge palace in Belgrade which was known as the Palace Lakhovari and today is Filological University...She died in the town of Nis where her son served as a soldier(her daughter Milica died at the age of 4) and was burried in Belrade...
Queen Natalia died on 5.5.1941 in the monastery Notre Dame du Sion in Paris...although still rich,she died as a poor nun and was often described as the saddest Queen of Europe...
