Nastya's teddy bear...

I don't think she had a teddy bear with a name. I've never heard of anything like that.

Neither I've heard something like that since this friend from a Yahoo group ask it, he says he have seen several photos of her with a stuffed bear in a museum archive, and in addition some russian-language Romanov history books have it where it referred to her favorite stuffed bear named "something".

But as I said i've never heard about Nastya havind a favorite teddy...

As the children received a lot of presents from visiting guests, ambassadors, and on their birthdays, I have no doubt in my mind that they owned teddy bears. They were introduced around the time that Alexei was born so they had been around for several years during their childhood. Perhaps she did have a teddy bear with a name, but it's really no different than naming your doll. It could have belonged to one of the other children as well and she was just holding it in the picture.

I do believe I have seen a picture of a teddy bear, it was in ony of the exhibitions that visited the USA.


Tha caption read something about it being the Tsarevich's Teddy bear, but no name was provided.

From the pictures I have seen, the girls mostly played with dolls, and among themselves.


As for the dogs, the first one, definetely looks like a Pomeranian... but thats just my opinion

I haven't heard about Anastasia's teddy bear but I happened to see a teddy bear of Romanovs in a Teddy Bear exhibition in my country some years ago.

It was a red teddy bear in a Cossack suit that used to belong to Princess Xenia; she was known later as Xenia Leeds, who assisted "Anna Anderson" btw (she was a second cousin of Anastasia&a daughter of Grand Duke George Michailovitch) and the bear had a name; Alfonzo. Princess Xenia met and played with Anastasia...maybe Anastasia saw "Alfonzo" and took a photo with Princess Xenia and "Alfonzo?" Yet "Alfonzo" was not Anastasia's teddy bear...I'm sorry if it is nonsense.

It can't be Jemmy Maria_Romanov_fan, because you can see that they are clearly two different dogs. They look nothing alike, the ears being the most distinct feature between the two. I think it's Shvybzik.

I believe the first picture posted on here is definatly a real dog. Many pets have very round and cute paws. (I have four cats to judge it on, lol)

It's look like a fake dog, because, it's just not a living animal, you can see that, i mean look at the legs...Nothing like a real amimal!

The thing in Anastasia's lap looks definatley like a teddy bear. It's face is just so lifeless and its arms so stuck out and rigid!
And if it IS a teddy bear, then it's not necessarily hers. It could possibly be Alexei's, for example.
Anyone got a pic. of Alexei's teddy bear? Then we could compare and see!
