What Did Felix Die From?

Did he get sick as he got older, or was it just old age?

I have unfortunately seen a picture of him dead in his bed, but I have never seen a cause of death. As far as I know, I've never heard anything about him having serious health problems, or a particular disease. I am assuming he probably died of a stroke, since that's what killed both of his parents, his father at age 72, his mother at age 78 (he was 80)

I thought he died of natural causes, old age...never really gave it much thought.

I keep hearing about a photo of Felix dead in his bed, but I have never seen one. I know it must sound rather morbid but I would like to see it as well one of his mother, Zeneida if avaliable.

I would also like to see it. I've seen a drawing of NAOTMAA dead, and as terrible and morbid as it was, it was interesting.

I always thought he died of natural causes. I too would like to see the photo if anyone has it.

Huh? ???

What drawing is this? I believe there is a painting/color drawing of the family being killed, but never have I heard of drawings of the bodies.

The ROCOR put out a small book with these pictures some years ago-  I saw them in the mid 1980's. They are probably still likely to be found. They were devotional I think.

Christopher Dobson writes in his book "Prince Felix Yusupov. The man who murdered Rasputin" (Harrap books, London 1989) pp 194-195:

"He died .... on 27 September 1967 at the age of 80. He had been in great pain for a long time but he never complained. Eventually he fell into a coma and his family and household, including Gugusse IV, gathered around his bedside. One of them told me what happened:
We sat by his bedside for days. suddenly he opened his eyes and they had become a startling blue; they were the bluest I have ever seen. He looked beautiful. A smile lit up his face as if he had seen something wonderful. And then he died. He was quite serene.
He died a saint"

Mr Dobson wrote a good book.

What a strangely lovely account, thanks for posting. I knew it was of natural causes, but not what for sure, which is why I guessed stroke like his parents. I have heard of people seeing something beautiful just before they died. Perhaps he was seeing one of his palaces, or something from the olden days. I have never heard of that book, I will have to find it.

The picture I saw of him dead in bed was on a website called "The Felix Yusupov Home Page". I found it last summer. I saved several other pics from it, but couldn't bring myself to right click that one. The page has since vanished, I guess its webmaster ran out of time or money or something. :-/

That is a nice account of Prince Felix Yusupov's death. It  answers the question this thread started, but it it alone would have been worth reading. I have never read too much about the Yusupov family distinctly apart from Romanov books. They were a very fascinating family.
