Maybe somebody has already translated the 26 May menu, nevertheless:
-------------------------
* Soup a la Russe [IMO this was a meat soup with pearl barley and turnip]
  Pirozhki [small pastries stuffed with meat, onion, mushrooms etc.]
* Boiled small Gatchina trout [Gatchina was famous for its stream trout]
* Wild goat [apparently marinated cold meat]
* Chicken fillet with truffles
* Langustine under jelly [cold of course]
* Roast duck
  Lettuce salad
* Artichokes with mushrooms [most probably forest mushrooms, since champignons were always mentioned separately]
* Hot sweet course
  Ice cream
  Dessert
-------------------------
The menu is quite typical of the Russian gourmet cuisine of that time due to the combination of indigenous and foreign dishes and alternation of meat, fish and vegetable courses.

Many thanks for this great link! I was stunned to see the closer ones of Alexandra's carriage - as one can really make her out in it, unlike the other photograph i'd seen of it. There is also the photograph of Nicholas under the canopy wearing the crown after the coronation, and various commemorative prints of Nicholas and Alexandra issued at the time. Some can be found in "Romanovs, Love Power.." along with coronation menus and one or two other photos of the occasion.

Is it true that when Alexandra's carriage passed the people became silenced after cheering Empress Marie?

Thanks for the link! I got a question. The carriage MF was in had an Imperial crown on it, but Alexandra's did not. Anyone know why? Was it because MF was crowned and Alexandra had not been yet?

I think you have it there, Angie. She had not been crowned as yet.

okay, so i'm trying-out a new image-hosting site....it's alright, i guess.  but they put their logo on everything and only upload 5 at a time.
and this is the 4th one i've registered with & they all suck....but for different, indivdual reasons & to varying degrees.

photobucket is actually the best (by far) of the ones i tried.

oh well, anyway ---
