Cold beauty? Hmmm...IMHO that aquiline nose makes her look ugly.  :-/

Well-well, I did not want to mock at Augusta Victoria  ;) and her nose. Her eyes are quite beautiful but very sad aren't they?  Actually I saw a photo of her taken in the 1930s...and I  was shocked at the impression of her face and eyes. She did not look beautiful at all in that photo.

In Lisbon there is a marvelous antique store called CAMARA DOS PARES, which sells amazing photos of the Portuguese Royal Family.  I was last there two years ago and left the shop broke, but quite satisfied with my findings.

It is worth going to check it out, even if you cannot buy anything...the royal antiques on display are fantastic.

Does anyone have pics of Auguste Victoria's mother Maria Theresia of Bourbon and the Two Sicilies, called Mädi?
Maybe there's even a pic of Mädi and her mother Mathilde, Countess of Trani (called Spatz and sister of Empress Elisabeth of Austria) ???

Thanks ...

Was Auguste Victoria's mother nickname Madi or Maedi(German version)?

Yes, Maria Theresia´s nickname was Mädi, which is the Bavarian affectionate form of Mädchen=girl.

Svetabel, Mädi died in 1909, so there can't be a picture of her taken in the 1930's.  ;)

Linnea, the pic of Mädi on her deathbed is horrible. It looks like she got her long hair cut.
Her cousin Marie Valérie wrote in her diary that Mathilde Trani took care of her daughter all the time. In the last weeks of her life, Mädi seemed to be confused.

Marie, I talked about Augusta Victoria and her looks, not about her mother  ;)
