Since Nicholas Konstantinovich forms a fairly big part of the new Atlantis issue on the Konstantinovichii...

He actually died on January 13/26, 1918, in the arms of Darya, his illegitimate daughter by Chasovitinova.  He died of severe bronchitis.  He had the singular distinction among the Romanov Family of being the only member of the former Dynasty to be given a full, state funeral by the Bolsheviks, attended by thousands in Tashkent, with a Guard-of-Honor of Red Army soldiers that surrounded his coffin as it lay in state in the Cathedral of St. George in the city.  The most decorated and fierce revolutionaries were picked to lower his body into a special vault.

Thanks for Marlene for clearing this up for us.

As we have discussed in the book section, Chavchavadze's book does indeed have its problems.  Why he failed to source these older references which you cited is a mystery.  ???

Der Herold is a genealogical magazine in german.  The article was written several years after David's book.  Moreover,  the Fanny Lear book is rarely cited ..most people do not know about it.

I wanted to know if anyone on this discussion board has any info or photos off Natalya Androssov Inskander Romanov who died in 1999?

She was a granddaughter of Grand Duke Nicholas Kostantinovich Romanov whose father was a brother of Tsar Alexander II. It would be good to have any details from anyone.

ajv123ajv, I believe there are some photos of her in a book called "The flight of the Romanovs". I just ordered this book the other day so if no one else posts the photos, I can post them for you when I get it.

Quite an amazing life that she had.  It's a pity that no book or film is likely to be made of her adventures. These are from Flight of the Romanovs.

It is Iskander.  She was profiled in Royalty Magazine several years before her death.  Both Natalia and Philip descend from Grand Duke Constantine Constantovich.

Natalia Alexandrovna worked in the circus in the motor show ( her motor we could see on the previous picture of the thread).  Her show were very successful.
Her husband was movie director Nikolay Vladimirovich Dostaly.
( If I am right his son now is the head of "Mosfilm" - Moscow movie making company)

As I understand she had no connections with them. She was raised not as the Natalia Alexandrovna Iskander , but as Natalia Nikolaevna Androsova . She had the name of the new husband of her mother
